The work discusses massification of higher education and the employment rate by
specialisation.
The actuality of the topic lies in the fact that massification of higher education, in terms of
employment by specialisation, has never been studied in Georgia. The main objective of higher
education is to enable students acquire transferable skills, which ensures their employment in
the marketplace. It is of considerable interest, in the condition of massification, how
universities support students in securing jobs and whether they are employed. Moreover, we do
not have much of scientific literature in the Georgian language about the massification of
higher education, about its history, its positive features and drawbacks, whilst worldwide
hundreds of works are being written about this topic. Massification of higher education has a
tremendous impact on universities as well as graduates’ employment. For this reason, we
believe this topic is actual and our research will be a novelty since It will find out the rate of
graduates’ employment. (It should be noted that every authorised university has conducted
such research, however their findings are not public.)
The subject of the study is massification of higher education and employment by
specialisation. The object of the research is employment and employment by specialisation.
Therefore, the goal of the research is enquiring the graduates about their employment status.)
