Abstract
For the perfect perception of the literary heritage of any writer, it is very important that the personal life of the writer and his inner feelings be taken into account. Such nuances are most clearly detected in epistolary samples. Therefore, a researcher who has decided to study the art work of a writer must get acquainted with the author's personal letters and recordings perfectly well.
The present thesis is another modest attempt of studying the epistolary heritage of Nikoloz Baratashvili. The 18 letters of N. Baratashvili are systematically sorted and distributed to addresses in the thesis. Furthermore, the main notes and the nuances are outlined which are characterized by the cards written to the same person. The general and distinctive signs of the letters are pointed out. We paid particular attention to the fact of what internal proximity connects Baratashvili to the addresses of the letters and accordingly how he expresses his inner experiences. Separate chapters are dedicated to the political situation of that time in Georgia, the old Georgian rules of customs and representation of satire-humor samples. In addition, the self-portrait of Baratashvili and his self-esteem in the letters are highlighted separately about his physical defect and personality.
The above study has outlined parallels between the internal loneliness shown in Baratashvili's poetic and epistolary heritage. As it turned out, the epistolary heritage of Baratashvili is a key to recognizing the feelings that poet has expressed in his own poems.
