The master's thesis deals with the impact of innovations on the productivity growth of Georgian firms. First of all, the paper discusses the innovation processes in the firm, the essence of innovation in general, its origins and what great importance and role it attaches to the management of the business. It also discusses the stages that the concept of innovation has gone through, from the earliest period to the present, and the main types of innovation that are the subject of discussion in various foreign and Georgian literatures. For a long time, different classifications and definitions of innovation have been studied in numerous studies, hence general concepts related to innovation have been discussed from various literary sources.
It is noteworthy that in today’s modern and rapidly evolving world, firms are increasingly committed to introducing as many innovative approaches as possible. For this, research and development is vital, as well as the formation of technological knowledge and experience in the firm.
The master's thesis uses various Georgian or foreign statistical data, which allows us to evaluate and analyze the innovative activities of Georgian firms, compare the trends of the previous year and draw relevant conclusions on this issue.
As for other developing countries, the pursuit of innovation and technological progress is the main driving force for the high productivity and competitiveness of Georgian firms, which in turn contributes to the economic development of the country.
