The Relevance of the Research Topic - As the international coordination of economic relations increases, the cooperation between the countries increases with the addition of technological, intellectual and financial resources.One of the most important forms of economic cooperation is the foreign direct investment, which is positively reflected on the economic and social development of the country and is therefore one of the most important interests of the state.The role of foreign direct investments is especially high in the countries with market economies where the level of establishment of financial markets, which implies the duopoly situation in the banking sector against the background of virtually absence of stock exchanges, does not allow the effective financing of private business.For the purpose of promotion and provision of this objective, analysis of the volume and structure of foreign direct investments, its quantitative, geographical and qualitative study, which will provide economic decision-making entities as both the government and the investors will be a good source of support and an effective economic policy.
For many years, integration into the EU is one of the most important goals of Georgia. In this regard, after the restoration of independence from Georgia many steps have been taken. Georgia is actively pursuing political and economic reforms in response to EU recommendations.
At the same time, the EU is making significant efforts and resources in Georgia, helping the government and civil society in the development of democracy and economics, which coincided with the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union on 27 June 2014.The agreement provides for achieving strong economic growth, reforms in tax procedures, opening up the country for foreign trade and foreign investment, improving infrastructure and simplifying business environment.
