The financial crisis and its long-term results shacked the macroeconomic political framework,
which had been successful in stabilizing the economy form past decades. First of all, the crisis
showed the world that there was a need to rethink the monetary policy and its framework, as a
tool primarily focusing on price stability. The following fact foregrounded a new framework,
known as a macroprudential policy.
The objective of the thesis is to highlight the features and interactions of the monetary and
macroprudential policies in Georgia. The goal of the thesis is to identify the high necessity of
interconnection between the monetary policy and macroprudential policy. The thesis highlights
the theoretical dimension of the two policies, as well as examples from other countries. The main
emphasis relies on the implementation of the policies in Georgia.
