Abstract
The purpose of the MA thesis is to investigate the political integration strategies of Georgian government used for the citizens in occupied territories. The integration process of Abkhazians became significantly actual after 2008 Russian-Georgian war. Georgian government has put an effort to improve and develop the integration strategies that have been working for approximately 11 years. Therefore, some conclusions can be made about its quality and efficiency.
I used two criteria to analyze Georgian integration strategies for occupied territories: 1. the awareness level about the integration programs of Georgian government among the citizens in occupied territories. It is also important to define if they have some information about these programs or are influenced with anti-propaganda; 2. The influence it results in the attitudes of citizens in occupied territories toward Georgian government integration programs.
Citizens of occupied territories do not have an access to the integration programs. Lack of information could be the basic reason for non effective distribution of information in Abkhazia.
Moreover, limited access of Georgian government on Abkhazian media space, non-effective social communication between citizens of occupied territories and Georgia.
One of the most important reasons that interrupt the effectiveness of the integration process is anti-propaganda spread all over occupied territories. Most of the informed citizens do not want to be involved in the integration programs as they think it is Anti Abkhazian action and consider Georgia to be their enemy.
