Abstract
In the first chapter of the thesis ‘The Impact of the International Competition on Company’s Productivity’ the essence of small and medium businesses is discussed as well as their importance for country’s economic development, their main challenges - in terms of increasing competitiveness and productivity. Also, the way of solving these challenges using international experience – creating clusters.
In the second chapter, the history of development of competition, as a main tool against monopoly, is discussed as well as it’s role in economic development, Europian and American models of competition and their corresponding legislation. Also a brief history of Competition Agency of Georgia, it’s purpose and existing legislation regarding competition in Georgia.
In the third chapter there are discussed challenges existing on market, their impact on firms and ways to regulate problems.
In the fourth chapter discussed topics are as follows, EU policy towards developing small and medium enterprises, world economic forum and it’s rating of Georgia as well as Georgia’s government policy of developing small and medium businesses, as the fulfilling mechanism of EU/Georgia Association Agreement (the indivisible part of which is agreement of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA)).
