Presented MA thesis aims to find out how adequately Georgian National Tourism
Administration’s research work can identify all the problems existing in the tourism sector. The
emphasis is laid on the state’s ability to point out problems that are facing tourism business and
solve them in a timely manner, which in turn affects the quality of the offered service. In the
research, I processed information gathered as a result of the interviews held with the employees
of the tourism companies and Georgian National Tourism Administration. Furthermore, the
accent is put on Georgian National Tourism Administration’s work which incorporates the wide
area of the efforts aimed towards solving the specific problems.
In the research process, I gathered Georgian National Tourism Administration’s research
methods and the identified problems using those methods which were compared to the result of
the challenges facing tourism companies studied by the author of the presented work. In the end,
the work found out that Georgian National Tourism Administration’s research work is inadequate
which results from the lack of information regarding the challenges in the tourism sector. Thus,
the quality of the service offered by the tourism companies operating in Georgia does not satisfy
high standards and creates alerting risks in terms of sustainable development of tourism.
