Publication Issues in the Stage Interpretations of “King Lear” (by the example of creative works of Peter Brook, Giorgio Strehler and Robert Sturua)This thesis - “ Issues of the Stage Interpretations of “King Lear” (taking as examples the creative works of Peter Brook, Giorgio Strehler and Robert Sturua) is an attempt at an integrated study of creative issues in post-Soviet Georgian theater science related to the stage interpretation of classic dramaturgy in the context of creative processes taking place in the social-political and theatrical environment; in particular taking William Shakespeare’s “King Lear” as an example. Why “King Lear”? Freedom and power turned into willfulness are the main problems of Shakespeare’s tragedies, which are always a threat to a state and its people. These issues were major themes of the XX century, especially in the Soviet space. In the modern world, as well as at any time and era of mankind, the struggle for power has never lost its topicality. Hundreds of performances were put on this issue, and among them a significant place is occupied by the classic drama, and first of all, by Shakespeare. In the struggle against dictatorship one of the most important phenomenon was productions of “King Lear” throughout Europe; these played a special role in changing people’s consciousness. Exchange of experience gained in this area remains relevant even today and it has practical significance for modern directing. I mean also the future performances, which will be actively addressed by directors. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
