The work presents the problems that occur during the employment in the private and public sector of women who have less serious offenses after leaving the penitentiary establishment and describe / analyze the reasons and their causes. The information is obtained using the qualitative method of sociological research, during which the in-depth interviews have been conducted with ex-prisoner women, private sector employers: shop and sewing facility owners and from the governmental departments - with the school teachers.
The aim of the research was to identify the problems of a former prisoner women with less serious offences during their work recruitment process in a state and private sector and to investigate the reasons behind these problems. The research also reflects the employers attitudes towards them, because, often women with past criminal records become victims of stigmatization and gender-based discrimination, which prevents them from employment and re-socialization process.
Also, it is important that the government has a great role in creating and implementing proper employment and the re-socialization strategies of a former prisoner women. The report reflects the attitude of the former convicted women on the programs implemented by the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance, Ministry of Justice.
