Abstract
In the 19th century, the ioss of Georgia’s independence and the reduction of enemy invasions changed the necessity of heroism as the highest morai dignity. The attitude towards it was perfectly reflected in the works of Romantic writers: Ilia, Akaki, and especially in Vazha-Pshavela’s creative works.
The research topic is up-to-dated as far as it deals with human moral values. The research of the material was mainly carried out by analyzing foctional texts and taking into consideration the opinions of researchers. The views of nineteenth-century writers on heroism as a means of awakening the nation’s moral views were revealed.
