Abstract
Importance of mathematics is huge in everyday life. Development of Society is impossible
without the knowledge of mathematics. British mathematician, Hardy wrote about
mathematical beauty: „Mathematician`s work has to be as beautiful as the creation of poet and
painter, ideas must be in harmony with each other, just like colours and words“.
History of human development is related with understanding the universe and using
mathematics. The role of using mathematics in practice increases with development of society.
Mathematics is used beyond traditional fields, such as business, economics, biology, computer
science, etc.
Theoretical models created in mathematics are used to solve real-life problems and on the
other hand, practical problems supply mathematics with important and interesting tasks.
Accordingly, teaching process should underline the use of mathematical methods in order to
solve life problems. Teaching process of mathematics, that isfocused on solving practical and
scientific problems, increases students` motivation and interest towards mathematics.

knowledge in life?“. This is a clear example, why it is important to teach how to use theoretical
knowledge in practice and why this issue is still trending today. Practical life challenges were
always the first sourceformathematical knowledge. It is important to explain the students the
objective of each topic, necessity to learn and how to use them in practice, when teaching
mathematics in order to help them answer the question themselves they often have: “how they
can use their knowledge“. Apart from learning mathematics, the students should be able to use
their theoretical knowledge to solve the various problems, as everyone, with any specialtyneeds
