Georgia has successfully transitioned from Gavi support and is self-financing its national immunization program. With the strong support of political leadership and close collaboration of the national experts and international partners the country managed to eradicate numbers of vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) and achieved high rates of immunization coverage. However, Georgia’s immunization system still faces challenges to maintain regional target of 95-percent of immunization coverage and eliminate measles.
