dc.description.abstract	Effective use of Georgia's energy potential, introduction of energy efficient technologies and implementation of energy saving measures are a prerequisite for the economic development of any country and a means of strengthening the country's energy security. Improving energy efficiency is vital for Georgia, where we need to import large amounts of energy resources to ensure and develop the economy. While the country's energy resources are almost unusable. Among the sectors of the country's economy, the energy sector requires intensive and continuous financing in order to simultaneously maintain a stable functioning capacity and progress in line with the requirements of the macroeconomic environment. Initially, the rehabilitation of existing hydropower and thermal power plants, as well as grid and distribution systems, was crucial in electricity. Energy has become a priority of Georgia's state policy, a number of key problems have been solved, but nevertheless decisive measures must be taken for the country's energy independence, utilization of its own resources, diversification and ensuring the country's energy independence. The most important task of the country's long-term electricity policy - to fully meet the country's electricity demand by using its own hydropower resources - is being done to some extent. The aim of the master's thesis is to study the peculiarities of the formation and development of the energy market of Georgia, to analyze the energy resource potential of Georgia, to determine the directions of increasing the efficiency of the use of energy resources.
