Abstract
The article discusses the active development of tourism in the ancient settlement of the Imereti region, the so-called "Chkhari Country". This name was given to villages spread over a fairly large territory, which were connected to the city of Chkhari by seven directions, one of which was the Imereti section of the "Silk Road": Kutaisi-Simoneti-Dzevri-Chkhari-SkandeChikhori-Kvatsikhe-Korbouli and other nearby villages: Ali (Alisubani)-Tuzi-Sazano - these villages were important points, and the city of "Chkhari" was the center. We believe that the former "Chkhari Country" can become an interesting place for the development of various types of tourism, such as: natural monuments, protected areas, cultural tourism, historical monuments, religious tourism, equestrian tourism, speleology, etc. We are considering the possibility of developing "silk tourism" here.
