Abstract
Master's thesis " Emergency Coverage Standard in Georgian TV Media " is a set of practical skills and
experiences in which Georgian media did not have the theoretical knowledge and therefore the
situation developed the standard where Georgian journalists had to work.
When I decided to work on this topic, I knew from the fact that I would not have the ready subtitles or I
would not have specific editions to understand "full image" but I knew that from my own "little bit of
effort or experience" and my colleague friends’ "for years" experience I would have a lot to listen, to
write and to summarize. The fact that I would not have to go on the cramped road and in the
"emergency situation" segment, on TV media standard " virgin land" I would have to pull a little tillage
and that gave me more interest and motivation.
That's why I decided to interview the journalists who have been working in the Georgian media in a
particular direction and maybe have objective views, recommendations and even prohibitions based on
standards or frame-clichés, as well as subjective, but self-censorship and criticism.
So the author of this work is not just me, they are colleagues who at the time of emergency, during the
natural or unnatural situations of the so-called competitor media are under so called umbrellas, and we
are unwittingly creating the standard, making mistakes, as well as succeeding and claiming to be more
sophisticated, professional and to be the member of the media environment with main values.
The fact that me and my colleagues were to be more specific was to create a standard together how to
work in emergency situations, what to do or not, what he/she has to do, when the reporter starts and
finishes, consider others’ opinions, why the professional duty firstly and then civil activism, etc.
