Abstract
Today in Georgia tourism industry is one of the most fast growing and perspective sector of an economy. Thus, it is extremely needed for our country to do researches about our regions touristic potential and to better and optimally develop the growing tourism industry.
The Thesis “The Analisys of the Touristic Potential of Shida Kartli using Geoinformation Systems and Technologies” (G. Balakhadze) discuses a touristic potential of one the regions of Georgia — Shida Kartli and aims to show the region’s current touristic development and its opportunities in the future.
By analyzing the issue using GIS technologies I’ve found out several new types of tourism that have all preconditions in the region to be fully developed and to strengthen its role as a touristic region.
Novelty of the Thesis is in its analysis methods that have been used and which gives us an opportunity to see graphic aspects of the issue and to develop new ideas based on them.
