This work discusses the holidays and entertaining shows in Tbilisi in XIX-XX centuries that made the capital city more exciting and versatile. Holidays and entertaining shows are the topics of research of ethnology/antropology as they are the indispensable parts of customs and traditions of people and help to develop the original culture according to which the ethnoss differ. Ethnical culture is essential to maintain and develop the ethnose.
The main purpose of our research is to study and analyse the holidays and sports competitions. The aim of the research was to collect and represent the holidays and shows/plays. The materials used include not only historical and ethnographic documents, but also contemporary press which provides a great amount of information on this topic. Holidays are divided into four holiday cycles according to empirical and theoretical and interdiciplinary or specific to field methods as well.
This work is an attempt to collect and analyse the holidays and entertaining shows in Tbilisi in previous centuries. The work is provided not only for specialists / experts but also for wide range of readers.
