Abstract
The purpose of this research study is to develop methodological approaches of teaching function issues in Secondary schools - what the teacher should emphasize in the process of teaching function to make knowledge dynamic and what means will contribute to the development of such knowledge.
The Dissertation includes an introduction, three main chapters, conclusions and recommendations.
The first chapter deals with the concept of a function in historical context, its introduction into school literature, and the position and role of a function in the teaching of mathematics.
The second chapter mainly overviews the properties of a function and teaching moments of the related issues. It discusses the problems encountered in the teaching process and the ways of how to deal with them.
The last, third chapter focuses on the results of the second phase of the research study, namely the in-depth interviews with education experts and teachers. Finally, the results of the research paper are summarized. There are also conclusions and recommendations presented. A list of used literature is attached to the dissertation.
We believe that the lesson situations discussed in this study, which may arise at any time, will contribute to mathematics teachers in their practical work.
