Treatment of Child Diseases in Imereti

The research is based on the ethnographic data colleted in Imereti, West Georgian region on the traditions of treatment of chld diseases. Several tradtions are described and the conclusion drawn out is that the treatment of various diseases common in children are carried out by use of plants, animal or mineral substances. Such treatment had a positive healing effect, which was determined by the healing properties of the ingredients. Many folk remedies have been tested by modern medicine as well and are considered appropriate.
