The Master’s thesis reviews the innovations introduced in banking sector in Georgia and on the world scale. The first part covers the most popular topic in banking – digitalization. It provides examples of different countries. Later it provides the innovations used by bank employees, giving examples of how commercial banks manage customer relations using CRM, what stages are undergone till automatization of offers. The work reviews the factors affecting client’s creditworthiness and the models or risk assessment, how the probability of default is identified and which models of risk assessment are used for the right selection of the debtors. The thesis discusses different channels used to gather and consolidate information and the factors taken into consideration when offering appropriate product to the client. Finally, the work reviews innovations in preferential loan products introduced for the last ten years.
The above study deals with the problems which are common for all the banks in Georgia and worldwide. Therefore, the research methodology involves studying the current situation in the world at the first stage, then studying the practices and examples in Georgia by using different research methods. Georgian banks have been studied and analysed using the documentation published by them, people have been surveyed, and different types of secondary data has been used. The research revealed different problems in introducing innovations. The results demonstrated problems in people’s attitude. Business environment in Georgia turned out to be the hindering factor for implementing different international grant programs.
