In Georgia there is some tradition in terms of interest and study of the history of World War I. The Georgian periodicals publications, namely: “Akhali Azri”, (“New Opinion”), “ “Akhali Iveria”, (“New Iveria”), “Ertoba” (“Unity”), “Sakhalkho Furceli” (“People's Sheet”), “Sakartvelos Respublika” (“Republic of Georgia”) and others actively covered the pre-war events, there causes, the interests of participant States, the state of the fronts, the consequences of the war, etc.
In addition, the various memorable literatures, personal correspondences that reflect the course of the First World War and the attitude of the Georgian public towards it, are very interesting and important in this regard. Interest in this topic and its actuality is caused due to several reasons. First of all, it should be noted that the subject is practically unstudied (if we do not consider several works that fragmentary discusses the period interested for us). The most of the materials are almost untouched so far and have not been detailed studied what importance do they have, how correctly is expressed the war image and so on.
In the study process has been used historic-comparative method, critical study method of sources, analysis and descriptive, complex-intensive methods, which are established in the historical sciences. The expected results of the research aim to fill the vacuum, which is in Georgian historiography in this regard and we believe that the completed work will offer the reader a new perspectives and visions on the issue.
