Abstract
The transition from a centralized-planned system of agricultural management to market economics and the formation of property-based agricultures in Georgia has demonstrated to be a complex process. On the background of production falling, inflation, social distress it became evident that state, economists or specialists of agricultural field were not prepared to perform their obligations within market economics.
The agro-industrial sector commenced to establish itself with its own funds and low steps. Gradually, the term “agro business” also was introduced in the reality of country.
The paper is based on determination of opportunities, challenges, perspective of contemporary agro sector.
The subject of research is to establish existing problems, management challenges, export potential in agro sector, function of state in development of agro business.
The object of research is the opportunities of agro sector, the potential of Georgian Product as the brand.
The objective of research is to analyze the role of management in agro business, to establish the readiness of Georgian manufacturers as the competitive farming production, to evaluate the potential of sales market.
The scientific news reflect the existing problems, relevant analysis and results of challenges in Georgian agro sector, outlines the ways to solve problems and issues recommendations on establishment of effective management strategies that should become an important basis for solving existing problems and advancing in the agro sector.
