Skin Diseases and their Folk Treatments in Imereti

The Article is based on the ethnographic data collected in Imereti. The folk treatmet and healing methods of skin deceases were analysed by the comparative approach. Ethnographic data have been compared with the historical sources and folklore. Such deceases as Irichophytia, Piodermia and Panaricium were generally treated successfully. The positive effect of such treatment has been proved. The traditional knowledge based on experience was fitting to the needs of people
