The present thesis sets out the role of Georgian women in formation of Georgian nationalism. The main goal of the research is how important were women's activities in building of national feelings of Georgian society. The emphasis is made on social, political and economic preconditions of women's movement in Georgia. There will also be an attempt to outline the main factors that shaped the role of women in forming and developing the Georgian self-consciousness. According to the materials presented in the work, the role of women in society and the influence of nationalism and self-consciousness have been identified.

The topic was popular when the process was ongoing, as well as today. It is interesting how women made radical steps at that time and and how they worked in their activities. It should be noted that the mentioned issue has not been studied and there are only the primary sources.

Within the scope of this hypothesis, attention is paid to all the facts and events that have an indirect or direct role in promoting women's issues. The topic this is going to be made in the formation of nationalism and the emergence of national self-consciousness.
