Abstract
After the liberation of Georgia from the Communist regime, it took the course to the West and began to think about the country's standards that are the main demand for the EU from those countries who have a desire to join. Since 1997 our country has begun to take care to introduce the EU‟s relevant standards. On this way, Georgia had to pass many stages, by 2014 Georgia had moved to a new stage of relations with the EU and signed the Association Agreement, which has great importance for Georgia, the Association Agreement provides the gradual introduction of European standards in every field of economics and sectoral politics.
Thus, the issue of the convergence of the European Union is very actual and important in Georgia. Taking into consideration the fact that there is lack of information on the issues of integration with the European Union, I decided to study a topic that would be related with the EU. For this purpose, I used the reportage “Euro Tour” broadcasted within the TV program P.S.
My aim was to investigate how the Rustavi 2 journalists were trying to present Europe to the Georgian audience and what parallels were made with Georgia.
For my study, I have selected those reportages of “Euro Tour”, which are closer to Georgian audience. In the research, I have used qualitative method, and via visual material and discourse analysis I have conducted the research.
The results of the research have shown that despite the broadcasting of problematic aspects the authors of TV program “Euro Tour” try to show that the Europe and EU is attractive for Georgian audience.
