The nature of the problems of ecotourism, its theoretical, methodological and practical significance, the existence of a number of unresolved and discussion issues led to the selection of research topic, its purpose and tasks, subject and objectives.
Ecological tourism is an innovative tourism business in Georgia. Its significance in our country is due to the existence of a potential and unique basis for realization of ecotourism development program. Regions, which can be used as ecotourism development zones, generally have a weakly developed socio-economic structure. This leads to the need to analyze and study the processes that will follow the development of ecotourism.
The aim of the research is to formulate the basis of the formation of ecological tourism development strategies in Georgia, identifying the prospects of improving the economic situation of individual regions, which can be one of the most important alternatives for improving the quality of life of the local population in Georgia, which has unique tourism resources, ecotourism has not reached an adequate level of potential opportunities. The complexity and instability of the modern socioeconomic state has a substantial impact on the development of tourism industry. The development of ecological tourism impedes the imperfect mechanism of state regulation, the lack of private investment motivation in this direction, lack of demand due to lack of tourism service infrastructure, insufficient level of tourism science research, lack of strategic plan for tourism development.
