Abstract
Today, one of the main strategies of modern business is use of digital technologies, which facilitates the process of marketing evolution. The development of social media and easy access to the Internet has led to the expansion of the audience on the Internet and in fact it has even become necessary for companies to apply more resources to the Internet.
The paper reviews the history of the origin and development of digital marketing and deep theoretical discussion of its tools. Modern tourist trends, practical issues of travel websites, platforms and applications and their importance in modern tourism are systematically analyzed.
The paper also discusses the advantages and peculiarities of digital marketing in the Georgian tourism business. Georgia's example discusses the role that digital marketing can play in overcoming the tourism crisis. As part of the paper, qualitative and quantitative research was conducted on a pre-defined target audience to determine what role digital technologies actually play in the travel planning process and what impact it has on the tourism business.
