With the development of economic relations- entrepreneurial activities and related legislation have been developing dynamically. New entrepreneurial activities have formed under the conditions of a market economy. One of them is leasing, which is characterized by dynamic development. Leasing is regulated by both the Civil Code of Georgia and the Law of Georgia on Promotion of Leasing Activity. It should be highlight, that despite recent attention to the institution of leasing, both laws require further improvement. In this context, there should be considered the examples of leading countries, as well as the experience of local leasing companies and the economic development of Georgia. There should be categorized the subjects of leasing and should be demonstrated current problems in order to improve the legislation in the field of leasing. This will contribute to the development of leasing as an independent institution of civil law in Georgia. This thesis presents the comparison between the leasing norms regulated by Civil Code and the separate norms existing in the legislation of Georgia, as well as the practice of Georgian courts and the rules established by international laws. It is important to fill in each gap for the development of the Leasing Institution and improvement of Georgia's economy in order to contribute such a powerful financial institution as Leasing. It's important to better define the subjects of leasing and regulations related to movable items.
