Abstract
This paper refers to social integration of women with infant children (integration in
primary and secondary groups). There are many stereotypes in Georgian society about
family. Nowadays, this issue is important and urgent in Georgian society, because
permissiveness toward divorce is low. Because of these reasons and gender stereotypes
toward women with infant children is established stereotypical attitudes in Georgian
society. For divorced women integration is very difficult with primary and secondary
groups.
The aim of the research is to study social integration of women with infant children
(integration in primary and secondary groups).
Based on the research aim, the following objectives have been identified:
To study social integration of divorced women with infant children in primary
groups(family, friends)
To study social integration of divorced women with infant children in secondary
groups(neighbours, kins )
In order to study social integration issues of divorced women with infant children in
primary and secondary groups, as qualitative research, as particular in-depth interview
was used. Our respondents were 15 divorced women with infant children and their age
was from 18 to 49 years. Qualitative content analysis was used for analyzing women’s
narratives.
