Abstract
The following master's thesis deals with the study of the practice of providing textbooks
in the higher education institution. It is generally known how important the existence of
relevant education literature in the study process is. No training course and the program will be
able to pass the results of the study without the relevant education materials, accessibility on
which should be facilitated the faculty and the university. This is why the authorization and
accreditation standards of Georgia check the resources of the university and faculty, materialtechnical
bases.
A
group
of
experts
on
the
visit
pay
special
attention
exactly
to
these
issues.
And
not
only
in
Georgia, but abroad too, they pay attention to these issues and are subject of both
internal and external monitoring. Therefore, we consider the research to be relevant because it
establishes how we are able to identify these standards and the actual monitoring results.
In this regard, we have found relevant literature and researches, but it was found that
such a wide study in Georgia never conducted in this specific University and faculty and
already conducted studies (by Quality Assurance Service) were only softly refers this issue. so
the present research is unique and innovative.
After reviewing various literature and researches, we developed hypothesis: Students of
the faculties of Exact and Natural Sciences and Social and Political Sciences at Tbilisi State
University have problems on the access to textbooks. There are several reasons for this: lack of
Georgian literature and lack of educational literature in university library.
