Currently ongoing separatist movements in Europe confirmed that the world is striving for new geopolitical order and these movementspromote it. Referendum held in Cataloniain 2017, Br-exit and different actors’ willingness all over the Europe to create new states are the proof of this fact. Processes mentioned above threaten unity and security of each state as well as of whole Europe.
This paper is devoted to overriding issue that is determined by increasing changes of interna-tional system and international events as well. Regional movements for acquiring autonomy and independence are one of the most important issues among these events.
It discusses geopolitical goals of different international actors, concrete separatist region’s in-terests, aspirations and obstacles, too. There are alsoanalyzed similarities and differences be-tween the separatist movements in Georgia and Europe.
