Abstract
The paper studies the Georgian translation of Gregory's Or. 36 by David Tbeli (10th /11th c.) and compares it with some similar features in the translation of Or. 4. The translator tries to form the images of the personalities of the homilies according to hagiographic paradigms. These images are schematized and simplified in the translation instead of showing the rich nuances which they have in the original text. The text is changed in order to fulfill the tendentious aim of the Georgian translator.
