Abstract
The subject of the research is a study of one of the most important issues in the education system, the prestige of a teacher and the factors affecting it, on the example of a survey conducted in Shida Kartli, namely Gori public schools.
The reason for being interested in the issue is the absence of teachers' motivation and consequently the sharp decrease in the prestige of the teacher's profession, on the background of the endless cascade of ongoing reforms in the general education system.
The goal of the research is to study the factors affecting the prestige of the teacher's profession and to reveal the indicators.
The tasks are:
• To Explore historical development of formation of teacher's profession, review of literature;
• To explore the teacher's prestige on the example of Gori public schools;
• To elaborate measuring indicators of the teacher's prestige;
• To explore the attitude towards the profession as a teacher;
• To develop recommendations for improvement teacher's prestige indicators; Main outcome and innovation:
Creating a professional self-development model after taking into consideration the factors affecting the teacher's prestige.
