Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to identify the major factors which influence the image of Russia in the rhetoric of the Georgian political elites on the example of 1990-2016s Georgia.
According to the hypothesis – changes of the government, foreign policy course, internal political condition and need of population support shapes the image of the Russia in the rhetoric of the Georgian political elites.
In order to check the hypothesis paper discusses cases of four Presidents of independent Georgia, accordingly precidency periods of Zviad Gamsakhurdia, Eduard Shevardnadze, Mikheil Saakashvili and Giorgi Margvelashvili. Based on the analyze of statements and public speeches of the ruling classes, the research will try to determine how was changing the image of Russia in the rhetoric of the Georgian political elites not only different but in the ruling period of the same government.
The following paper will try to answer the main research questions: Which factors determine the image of Russia in the rhetoric of the Georgian elites? How this rhetoric influenced on the mobilization of population?
