თბილისის შიდასაქალაქო ტრანსპორტის შექმნისა და განვითარების ეკონომიკურ-გეოგრაფიული თავისებურებანი

The capital of Georgia – Tbilisi is a very interesting and difficult object of economic-geographical study. The city itself is a living organism and various parts of its life have close relationship to one another. In recent decades, substantial changes have been occurred for growth and development of Tbilisi. First of all, the changes have referred to the number of population, territory expansion and especially internal transport, that is an important element for urban life.
The main purpose of this Master thesis – “Economic and Geographic Trends of Foundation and Development of Tbilisi City Public Transport” by Giorgi Kotolashvili (G. Kotolashvili) is to study: 1. The role of internal transport in the normal functioning of the city's life, as bad organization and exploitation of transport negatively affect general activities of human beings. 2. Historical review of internal transport development in Tbilisi. 3. Interaction of different types of vehicles participating for establishment of interconnections in the city and the role of each of them for passengers’ transportation in Tbilisi. 4. Current problems facing to internal transport of Tbilisi: the most problematic issue is regulating of traffic flow in the central districts of the city where the intensive growth of traffic movement may cause paralyzing of it. 5. Introduction of promotional development programs and projects for improvement of internal transport services and organization of the Tbilisi economic and social development plan. Service of internal transportation and introduction of projects and perspective development of programs for improvement of organization envisaged through the economic and social development plan of Tbilisi.
