Abstract
In Georgia, in recent years, media outlets often prepare journalistic products on religious topics because the number of conflicts on religious grounds has significantly increased in the country.
Especially should be emphesisd such facts occuring during religious services. More recently, cases of hindering the religious rituals of Muslims have become more frequent, most of which remained unresponsive by the state or were limited by verbal protest only.
The goal of the research is to study the frames revealed toward the religious minorities in the online media, as well as attitudes and opinions of online media users. As a result of our research, we were given an opportunity to analyze possible effects of media framing on Georgian online media users.
The paper deals with the journalistic publications (articles, news, blogs) prepared on the topic of religious minorities presented in the online media in 2016 and analyzes possible effects of media framing on Georgian online media users. The work covers the study period from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2016. Two Georgian online editions were selected as observation objects: liberali.ge and netgazeti.ge. There was conducted a content analysis of the media outlets.
