Abstract
The edge of the 18th-19th century is one of the important cuts in the history of Tbilisi. One of the key points is exploring the trace of Eastern influences in the secular architecture of Tbilisi city and different aspects of it in a cultural context that has not been the subject of study before. The evolution of architectural forms and different issues of the edge 18th-19th century city architecture has not been studied in a wide, interdisciplinary context. But, it is quite obvious that architecture from that period has an essential place within its artistic and esthetical context. The research aims to explore the relationship of Georgian secular architecture from the edge of the 18th19th century and its façade decoration to the Eastern Art tradition: what kind of connection is between Georgian Architectural ornament and foreign influences and what were the promoters in this process? During the centuries geographical condition of Georgia placed on the crossroad between the East and West made a fruitful basement for the formation of different cultural traditions. A significant issue arises Within the historical context: how does Georgia look at its past and consider its resentment? Are cultural processes placed in Georgia considered the province of the Russian Empire or the center of the Caucasus? Thus, relations of those issues of Georgian Architecture, the study of the evolution, and the comparison of the final results will open valuable knowledge about the artistic taste of that time, were an important role played as donators and architects and general worldwide society.
