Abstract
The master´s work discusses the history of the Ecumenical movement´s start and development and the reasons for juining the Georgian Apostolic Autocephalous Church and leaving it in 1997 – issues the have become increasingly important in light if global economic and political globalization process.
The purpose of this work is to find,study and analyze material of the abovementioned movement and its realitionship with the Georgian Orthodox Church, whilich illustrates the causes and results of the developed processes.
The study has found that the Ecumenical movement and its coordinating organization, the World Council of Churches,which was created to communicate and cooperate with various Christan denominations,were gradually tryng to acheve some kind of artificial unity of different denominations and it has the Georgian Orthodox Church and eventually to the abandonment of this movement by the church.
