Abstract
The study aims to identify how much propagandistic narrative is laid out in political-
analytical broadcasts of Georgian and Russian media and what kind of methods are
used in this content of media. Whereas, majority of society gets information from TV,
therefore at the time of important processes for the country, in this case during the
elections, it gains more significance to analyze how the media broadcasts both the pre-
elections and the post-elections environment, because the will of voters largely depends
on it.
In the process of studying the topic, we observed concrete media means, and analyzed
the data received as a result of observation with the qualitative content-analysis
methodology. We also used the method of expert depth interview, results of which meet
with the results of media monitoring. In the capacity of experts, we made inquiries to
political PR specialists, journalists, media experts, propaganda and information war
analysts, PR specialists.
The research demonstrated the several key trends and strategic aspects. Observation
and content analysis on media means in two different political environments highlighted
similarities-differences between them. The results enabled us to respond the study
issues. Finally, we may conclude that the mentioned media segment of both countries is
under political influence and tries to turn the channel’s policy as the audience beliefs,
and for the purposes of achieving the goal they use persuasion and propagandistic
narrative techniques.
