Concerningn The Problems Of Doctorpatient Relationship According To The Ethnographic Data Of Kvemo Imereti

The purpose of the research was to study the issue of the doctor­patient relationship among the population of Kvemo Imereti. The ethnographic data was compared to the infor­ mation published in the periodicals of the last century and the dynamics of changes were revealed. The society's and patient's attitude towards the doctor has changed due to the global changes in the world and the fundamental change in the development of medicine caused by the improvement of technology.
The field ethnographic research conducted in Kvemo Imereti proves, that the respect for the doctor as the leader of the treatment and his special status in the society has not changed. This fact the should be determined by his decisive role of the doctor in the oppostion of health and illness and life and death. Among the social relations elaborated for the support of life, the attitude of the doctor and the patient ap­ pears as one of the most important relations.
