The problems of integration into Georgian society are still very relevant for the ethnic minorities living in Georgia. The primary couse that impedes the integration precess is a language barrier.
The thesis - “Socio-Geographic Aspects of State Affirmative Action for Ethnic Minorities in Georgia” ( author S. Gogelia) discusses the problems of compactly settled ethnic minorities in Georgia with regard to the knowledge of the official language and the accessibility of higher education and determines the efficiency of an affirmative action in the process of integration on the basis of a guideline published by the office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities (HCNM).
Furthermore, it outlines principal socio-geographic aspects of an affirmative action.
