საქართველოს სომხების ეთნო-კულტურული იდენტობის გამოხატვის სივრცითი თავისებურებები თბილისისა და ახალქალაქის მაგალითზე

Ethno-cultural issues are important for Georgia, as far as it is characterized by ethno-cultural and religious diversity. This Master thesis – “Spatial characteristics of the expression of ethno-cultural identity of Armenians on the example of Tbilisi and Akhalkalaki” by Mariam Sharia (M. Sharia) – aims to reveal what kind of spatial characteristics exist for Armenian from Tbilisi and Akhalkalaki during expressing their ethno-cultural identity.
In order to achieve the goal these tasks were accomplished: introducing the terms related to ethno-cultural identity; a brief historical overview about the Armenians of Georgia; Overview of the legislative system and statistics related to ethnic minorities;
interviewing experts; within the qualitative research, interviewing Armenian population in Tbilisi and Akhalkalaki.
The target groups of the qualitative research were Armenians living in Tbilisi and Akhalkalaki.
The main finding of this thesis is – during expressing Armenians ethno-cultural identity, spatial differences between Akhalkalaki and Tbilisi were revealed which are related to the language, religion life, cuisine, school education and migration attitudes.
