Abstract
The juvenile diversion program hasn't been around as long as the Georgian justice system, but due to its urgency, it was quickly refined and firmly established. The program was critical in the transition from "zero tolerance" to liberal politics, and it resulted in numerous beneficial changes to Georgia's judiciary. Nonetheless, there are gaps that require additional research and analysis to protect the best interests of minors so that once the diversion program is completed, the juvenile does not feel unfair and is completely re-socialized in the community, taking advantage of the diversion program's one opportunity. The paper reflects the recommendations made in international conventions and acts that address alternative justice issues for juveniles who have run afoul of the law.
