Nowadays, the pace of life has been significantly accelerated and people who are employed
have to spend most of their time out of home, at their work places. The daily routine of
employed parents is more loaded and stressful, because of their attempts to balance job and
family. There are disputes on what is better for a child – to be with an unemployed,
emotionally disturbed parent, or to spend a little, but productive time with a successful one.
Due to the fact that in recent years, more and more women have joined the labor force and
the number of families with both parents employed has increased, this topic becomes quite
popular – it is interesting how employed parents manage the issues related to their children
and communicate with them to balance and compensate the lack of time after a busy day.
The purpose of the research is to study relationships, time spent together and communication
quality of children and their parents. The time management of parents will be discussed – how
it is possible to allocate time for children and spend it productively. The attitudes of parents
on leisure time with children and lack of communication will also be assessed. Besides, it is
important to know how employed parents manage the house work considering all abovementioned
factors.
