The conflict is a social phenomenon and an integral part of human existence and life is unimaginable
without it. The conflict and its management represent important challenges for the mankind in
contemporary times. The essence of conflict management is in avoiding it, or in other words prevention.
The possibility of avoiding conflicts requires much knowledge, such as the essence of conflict, its nature, its
external and internal factors, as well as its causes. Person is the main actor in the conflict, as any conflict is
related to a person or a group of persons. On the other hand, transformation means a fundamental change.
Learning the transformation and relations of the old type of construction allows us to analyze how
transformation can cause fundamental changes in the functional level, as well as in the perception and
attitude of the population.
This Mastes’s thesis research revealed that new constructions in Tbilisi are not only changing the city's
urban landscape and cause the problem of limited space usage, but they also create a new social relationship,
increasing social segregation and negative sentiments of the population. Besides the fact that this process
separates old and new buildings and increases a social distance between spatially close settlements, it creates
new kind of relations in new buildings and offers different space management models and ways of conflict
resolution.
