One of the most characteristic form for the modern Georgian literature is the epatage
. Many
writers or poets cause a stir in the public because of their creativity, content or shape of their
works. This research serves to determine what is the investment of Literature in society and
what are the main reasons for it to happen.
Survey consists with two: qualitative and quantitative parts. During the quantitative research
Master students of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Humanitarian faculty were
enquired. The qualitative survey based on the data obtained consisted in interviewing the
writers who were named as the most outrageous authors.
The Georgian society is a developing society, which means that the fear of strangers is very
familiar feeling for us. The findings of the study are also stating that the outrage is mainly
caused by authors who writes openly about the tabooed topics and try to break the existing
norms and thus calling the public attention.
