Abstract
Among the Georgian dialects the Adjarian one is particularly significant. It has already had historical importance for the development of Georgian literature language. Accordingly, it is urgent to study this dialect from the scientific point of view.
The goal of our research is to observe the speech of village Dandalo, which is one of the forms of Upper Adjarian dialect, to show the peculiarities of this speech, to consider it from the phonetical, morphological, syntactical and lexical point of view. For this purpose, we have recorded the texts with dialectological, folklore and ethnographic character; Their analysis have introduced a very interesting linguistic picture.
We have managed to reveal a lot of characteristic language forms, different phonetic, morphological and syntactical peculiarities have been identified. The speech is considered to be interesting from the lexical point of view, particularly, archaic forms, specific dialectic samples, vocabulary units established by the influence of foreign language, figurative words and expressions.
Speech peculiarities are compared with the data of other dialects in order to represent the particular features of Upper Adjarian, this time, peculiar forms of the village of Dandalo.
During research we used methods and techniques of historical-comparative, census, analysis and synthesis approved for gathering and recording material.
We think that the given research can support the perfect study of common Adjarian dialect, and generally, dialect study on the word and conduct level will give us an opportunity to define the Profile of the South Western Dialectic groups.
