Abstract
In Georgia, prostitution, as a happening exists and its legal status is figured, but it’s not clear which mechanisms of control will the country, going towards European development, implement for efficient regulation of this issue. Nowadays, prostitution is illegal, but if we take in consideration, that people engaged in this work represent little society with some little specific characteristics, emerges the need of social work with these people, need of deep research of the environment and the conditions that impact people to engage in this activity and also need to help some individuals with the resocialisation process.
Sex workers are not put into account by any kind of regulatory law and are rendered defenseless against different power structures within the country. Especially the ones that have a tendency of using their power to regularly break certain social and human laws while interacting with commercial sex workers. It is a saddening fact, that in the 21st century the defense of human rights is still under jeopardy and is not regulated by any kind of higher-up law enforcing body. There is a clear deficit of information within these people, they are not aware of their own rights listed in the "General Declaration Of Humans". Because of this, they are easily tricked into various provocations for the benefit of structures in power. Due to the severity of these facts, the given document explores different, reality-based situations and research, which accurately try to describe the current situation. Raising the level of awareness and keeping these people properly informed about their own rights is the first step to making them self-sufficient in terms of being able to defend their own rights. Without this process it will most likely be impossible to take care of this problem and a very taxing challenge to change the current situation for the better.
