Abstract
The purpose of the presented thesis is to analyze the depopulation in Georgia from the 90s until today. Depopulation is defined as a real or probable reduction of the number of population into the demographic dictionaries of the United Nations terms. In the “demographic dictionary” depopulation has following definition: “ Decrease of the number of population in any country or area when the number of next generation is less compared with the number of previous generation”.Depending on the set out purpose the thesis focuses on reviewing following issues: a brief historical overview of the population change in Georgia, depopulation – definition of terms, Defining the level and coefficients of depopulation according to years and comparison with neighbouring countries (Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan). The thesis also deals with the directions of demographic policy in different countries. Conclusion and list of references is atteched to the thesis.
